MOSCOW, May 18 (PRIME) -- Google’s Russian subsidiary has initiated a bankruptcy procedure because of non-fulfilment of obligations, the company said on Wednesday on the website of the federal register of important corporate events.

“Hereby OOO Google represented by General Director David Munro Sneddon…addresses with a notice on intention to announce itself a bankrupt…since it has foreseen own bankruptcy and inability to fulfil the monetary obligations since March 22, 2022,” the statement read.

At present, Google must pay a turnover-based fine exceeding 7.2 billion rubles under the lawsuits by the communications service. The company was due to pay the amount till March 19 but failed, and a case was opened earlier in May to claim the money by enforcement.
